A unique atmosphere, a beautiful stallion collection, the youngest foals, international top riders and meetings with fellow breeders, you will experience it all at the VDL Stallion Show. And it's possible again, after the relaxation of the corona regulations, the VDL Stallion Show 2022 can continue with the presence of the public! The show is is this Saturday 2 April and starts at 13:00, entry is free.
It promises to be a show full of sport and breeding with a festive touch. This year it is 50 years ago that Wiepke van de Lageweg bought his first horse, which has grown into the VDL Stud over the years. 38 stallions are presented in the show in hand and under saddle. The jumping stallions are presented by top riders such as Alex David Gill, Christel Kalf, Lennard de Boer, Suzanne Tepper, Luke Hill and the Olympic riders Marlon Zanotelli and Jur Vrieling are also present. For Glasgow van 't Merelsnest and Jur Vrieling, the stallion show will be their last performance together, after the show Glasgow van 't Merelsnest will be fully used for breeding. Marlon Zanotelli comes with his international assets Comthago and Grand Slam to Bears.
In addition to all the jumping stallions, Barton, Merlot and the new dressage stallion Expectation will also be presented.
Foals are shown by, among others, the approved stallions last year and the Grand Prix jumping stallion Chatinue, who was brought from Mexico.
Peter van der Waaij and former national coach Rob Ehrens will be there to give us an insight on the stallions. On the other hand, like every year, the collection is for a good cause. We don't want to forget the people who are currently having a very hard time in the heavily harassed Ukraine and that's why we hold a collection (of clothing, canned and shelf-stable food, care products) during our show.
The show will be broadcast live on www.clipmyhorse.tv, for visitors who can't come and for our foreign customers. The show can also be watched afterwards on www.clipmyhorse.tv.
