Steve Guerdat's 2015 World Cup Champion Albführen's Paille will be retired from the sport.

It is a long-standing injury that has forced Guerdat and the owner to make the decision to prematurely retire the 13-year-old mare by Kannan x Dollar du Murier. Albführen's Paille will return to the Hofgut Albführen in Germany, where she will devote herself to breeding.

Guerdat and Albführen's Paille won the 2015 Longines FEI World Cup Final in Las Vegas, and were also victorious in the 2015 Longines FEI World Cup qualifier in Gothenburg.

On his website, Guerdat thanks Mr. Walter Frey for entrusting him with the fantastic mare - but also for the confidence and continuous trust and the ongoing cooperation with the Hofgut Albführen with Albführen’s Happiness and some other promising young horses.
