"I am thrilled to now be based at the beautiful Coolmore stables in Fethard, Ireland with the opportunity to work alongside Cian O’Connor and the Karlswood-team," Beth Underhill tells World of Showjumping.
In March this year, the Canadian rider and the Rein-family – who supported Underhill with top horses such as Nikka vd Bisschop (Emerald x Nabab de Reve), My Clementine (Obos Quality 004 x Kashmir van Schuttershof), Dynastie de Beaufour (Diamant de Semilly x Cassini I) and Dieu Merci van T&L (Toulon x San Patrignano Corrado) – parted ways after a collaboration that lasted for two-and-a-half years.
With the support of the Rein-family, Underhill – who represented Canada at the 1992 Olympics in Barcelona, the 1994 World Equestrian Games in Den Hague and the 1998 World Equestrian Games in Rome – put herself back on the map for Canadian championship selection. With Nikka vd Bisshop, she was part of the Canadian team at the 2022 FEI Jumping World Championships in Herning, Denmark, as well as at the 2023 Pan American Games in Santiago, Chile, where Canada claimed team silver.
"I’m delighted that @bethunderhillofficial has joined us in Ireland," Cian O'Connor wrote on social media. "Beth will run the Coolmore Showjumping stable in Co.Tipperary acting as head coach and developing horses and working with the riders based there. I’m thrilled to have someone of Beth’s experience and professionalism as part of our wider team."
