After one and a half year apart, Cadjanine Z is now back with Rodrigo Pessoa. The 13-year-old mare by Canabis Z x Feinschnitt Z left the Brazilian rider in the spring of 2014, and joined Constant van Paesschen’s stables. During her time with the Belgian rider, Cadjanine was also competed by Amre Hamcho and Elodie Laborde - before it was announced that she would go under the hammer at an online auction in October. As the auction closed, Cadjanine Z remained unsold as the bids did not reach the expected level.
To World of Showjumping, Pessoa confirms that he has been reunited with Cadjanine. “I was asked by the owner if I wanted her back, and I did. I am taking her to Florida now, where I will start her up for the shows in January. There will be no pressure on her though, she went through a lot so we have to see how it works out and what is left in her,” Pessoa says.
With Pessoa in the saddle, Cadjanine Z has huge success - in March 2014 the two won the World Cup in Wellington together, and they were also on winning Nations Cup teams for Brazil in Arezzo and Barcelona during their time together.
