Anna Kellnerova has announced the retirement of the now 17-year-old mare Catch Me If You Can (Catoki x Acordplus). Kellnerova competed the mare at the Olympic Games in Tokyo, and together the two had many good results up to five-star level.
Prior to becoming Kellnerova's partner at the end of 2018, Catch Me If You Can was hugely successful with Laura Klaphake – they were on the winning German team in the CSIO5* Nations Cup in Aachen in 2018, before they went on to claim team bronze at the World Equestrian Games in Tryon later that same year. The two also jumped at the 2017 European Championships in Gothenburg.
In social media, Kellnerova paid tribute to Catch Me If You Can:
"Dear Queen C, There is so much I could write about the last 6 years we got to spend together in and out of the ring. We have grown together as a pair and got to experience some incredible firsts, all the way to the Olympics, as well as being there for each other during some challenging times. Your strength and determination to give your all was admired by me, our whole team and dare I say also the people watching you perform. You are truly one of a kind. But most importantly I wanted to say thank you for being the horse and partner you are, uncompromising and caring. I can’t wait for your next chapter in life, taking time for yourself in the fields and hopefully having a few future champion foals. Thank you Catchi, forever grateful."
At World of Showjumping, we wish Catch Me If You Can a happy retirement!
