The organizers of the Equbreeding Auction can look back at an incredible edition, as the colt Das Machine EQ Z (Diamant de Semilly x Carthago Z) – the only full-brother to the stallion Emerald – was sold for no less than 360,000 Euro, a record prize for a foal.
The previous record was held by Zangersheide Quality Auction, that in September 2021 sold Especial For Fun Z (Eldorado vd Zeshoek x For Pleasure) – a son of Luciana Diniz's Fit For Fun – for 160,000 Euro. In 2019, Zangersheide Quality Auction sold the brother to Darry Lou – Troy Z (Tangelo vd Zuuthoeve x Nabab de Reve) – for 127,000 Euro.
Das Machine EQ Z's dam Carthina Z jumped at 1.45m level, while her offspring include multiple horses that have reached the top of the sport. In addition to Harrie Smolder's success stallion Emerald van't Ruytershof (Diamant de Semilly x Carthago), Carthina Z's offspring include Ilusionata van't Meulenhof (Lord Z x Carthago) – that competed at the highest level with Niels Bruynseels (BEL) and William Whitaker (GBR), Diamanthina van't Ruytershof (Diamant de Semilly x Carthago) – that jumped at 1.60m level with Constant Van Paesschen (BEL), Nixon van't Meulenhof (Denzel van't Meulenhof x Carthago) – that is successful at 1.55m level with Jos Verlooy (BEL), as well as the 1.50m performers Fragile van't Meulenhof (Calato x Carthago) and L'Innocence van't Meulenhof (Diamant de Semilly x Carthago).
