Norway's veteran Geir 'Jimmy' Gulliksen will be missing out on competing at the 2022 FEI Jumping World Championship in Herning, Denmark, after sustaining an injury. Gulliksen, who was selected for the Norwegian squad with his 11-year-old Equine America Grandino H (Calvino Z x Numero Uno), had a fall at a national show in Norway this past weekend and is expected to be out for the next six weeks after undergoing hip surgery today.

"I'll be watching the World Championship from the side-line," Gulliksen said to the Norwegian website Hestesport. "It's really sad as I have such a good horse and we have such a good team. But, there is nothing I can do about it and things like these happen. I will focus on getting back as quickly as possible, and will aim to do a record in rehab!"

With Gulliksen out, Cecilie Hatteland and Missy (Emilion x Heartbreaker) will move on to the team while Johan-Sebastian Gulliksen is the new travelling reserve.

At World of Showjumping, we wish Jimmy a speedy recovery and hope to see him back in the saddle soon.
