Belgium’s Gregory Wathelet, who won last week’s $63,000 CSI4* 1.50m Pomponio Ranch Welcome Speed at Desert International Horse Park, has had to go through shoulder surgery following a fall – leaving him sidelined for the coming weeks.
On his official Instagram account, Wathelet reassured his followers that the horse is doing well, and that he will soon be back competing. “After an operation on my shoulder and a few days in the hospital, I wanted to give you some news to say that everything’s fine,” Wathelet wrote. “A bit of rest and I’ll be back. I’d like to say a big thank you to all the people on site who reacted in such a hurry to help me. And thanks to all my family and all the people for their support and their many messages.”
At World of Showjumping, we wish Greg a speedy recovery!
