Sweden’s Olympic team gold medallist and double world champion Henrik von Eckermann tops the Longines Ranking for a 10th consecutive month, leading the way with 3598 points. Julien Epaillard (FRA) remains second behind the Swedish rider with 3005 points, while Mclain Ward (USA) climbs from fourth to third with his 2813 points, pushing Martin Fuchs (SUI) down to fourth on 2766 points.

According to the FEI, the difference of 593 points between von Eckermann and Epaillard is the widest gap registered in the last 14 years. “When I got the bracelet [Longines no. 1 armband], my first thought was I really wanted to make sure I’m not the athlete that holds the top spot for the shortest period of time. I really wanted to stay on a little bit and not just give it away the next month. Afterwards, with the success we’ve had, I thought it would be nice to be number one for one year. So now, with this margin, that could be a goal, that could be possible. So I’m very happy about that,” explained von Eckermann to the FEI.

Two Dutch riders follow the top four in the world: Former world no. one Harrie Smolders (NED) goes from rank six to five, while Maikel van der Vleuten (NED) climbs all the way to rank six from his previous rank ten. Marlon Modolo Zanotelli (BRA) remains as rank seven, while Conor Swail (IRL) drops from rank five to eight. Shane Sweetnam (IRL) drops from rank eight to ten, while Kent Farrington (USA) breaks back into the top ten – now sitting 9th between Swail and Sweetnam.

This month's ranking includes validated results from 1 May 2022 to 30 April 2023.
