Sweden’s double world champion Henrik von Eckermann is on the list of nominees that are in the race for the FEI Awards 2022. Von Eckermann, current world no. one and winner of both the individual and team title at the Agria FEI World Championship in Herning, Denmark, back in August, is one of the four nominees for the Peden Bloodstock FEI Best Athlete Award.

The Longines FEI Rising Star category includes Irish jumping rider James Derwin, while Beezie Madden's long-time groom Sue Schlegel is shortlisted for the Cavalor FEI Best Groom Award.

The 20 shortlisted candidates in the different categories are from 15 countries, and include World Champions, highly accomplished up-and-coming young athletes, grooms, inspirational equestrians, judges and charities. The shortlisted nominees have been selected for their outstanding achievements on the field of play, inspirational outlook and unparalleled dedication to equestrian sport.

The stories of all the nominees in the five categories can be found here.

The public has ten days (6 to 16 October) to cast their votes for their heroes. Vote here
