After a six-month break recovering from an injury, Hermès Ryan returns to international competition in Bordeaux this weekend with his rider Simon Delestre.

The tiny 12-year-old gelding by Hugo Gesmeray x Ryon d'Anzex sustained an injury right ahead of the Olympic Games in Rio which prevented him from jumping on the French team. Delestre has wisely taken his time to bring his 2016 European bronze medalist back, but right ahead of Christman the French rider revealed a video on his Facebook account of Hermès Ryan jumping at home adding that his veterinarian team confirmed excellent shape on the gelding.

For the French crowds, it will be a much-awaited comeback from one of world's most popular showjumping couples.
