Willem Greve's 12-year-old stallion Highway TN N.O.P. (Eldorado vd Zeshoek x Chellano Z, bred by P. Verdellen Paarden Fok & Opfok) has been voted KWPN Jumping Horse of the Year 2023 and will be awarded during the KWPN Stallion Show in February. Last year, it was Grandorado TN N.O.P. – Greve's other top stallion – that received the same honours. 

"In 2023, the beginning of the year looked really promising with Grandorado winning in Den Bosch, but then he unfortunately sustained an injury," Willem Greve told World of Showjumping. "In May-June last year, I never thought that we would end up having the year we had – Highway took the opportunity, really stepped up and had an unbelievable season. He turned a season that looked lost into a successful one, and I am glad he now gets his reward." 

Winning his first five-star Grand Prix in Mechelen in 2022, Highway TN then went on to win the CSIO5* Grand Prix in Rotterdam in 2023. He also placed second in the CSIO5* Grand Prix in Falsterbo, second in the CSI4* Grand Prix in Valkenswaard and second in the CSI4* Grand Prix in Maastricht. At the 2023 FEI Jumping European Championships in Milan, Italy, the pair placed tenth individually – finishing as the best Dutch combination. 

"Rotterdam was unbelievable," Greve tells about his 2023-highlights with Highway TN. "However, the way he jumped until the last round at the Europeans was also remarkable; the way he jumped better and better every round, how he grew into the championship was very impressive. His mentality is just amazing, he is an unbelievable fighter – and the mentality of a horse is everything. He wants to be a super horse, and he shows that to you every time he enters the ring. I am so proud of him."
