The Longines FEI World Cup Western European League is currently down to one leg after Jumping International Bordeaux earlier today announced the cancellation of their 2021-edition. Jumping International Bordeaux was due to take place from 4-7 February 2021, but has been cancelled due to updated Covid-19 restrictions in France.
A statement on Jumping International Bordeaux’s website reads:
“The Bordeaux Congress and Exhibition teams have during the recent months worked on different scenarios to meet social distancing and limitation requirements. However, under the tightened winter measures, the 2021-edition is no longer possible – neither from a financial nor an organisational perspective. We express our deepest disappointment.
We are also aware of the disappointment in the large community of equestrian sports enthusiasts, international riders and amateur riders who compete faithfully in Bordeaux – and more generally for an entire industry – caused by another cancellation of a historic stage of the Longines FEI World Cup."
The only leg currently remaining in the Longines FEI World Cup Western European League-calendar for the 2020/2021-season is Partner Pferd in Leipzig, Germany that is scheduled for 14-17 January 2021.
