Henrik von Eckermann's team Olympic Champion King Edward (Edward 28 x Feo), a 12-year-old BWP-gelding bred by Wim Impens, is back on top of the WBFSH Breeders Ranking for 2022, which this month includes results for the period from 1 October 2021 to 30 June 2022. After being rank four last month, King Edward has jumped himself to the top of the ranking with a total of 1464 points.

Conor Swail's Count Me In (Count Grannus x Sherlock Holmes), a 15-year-old Hanoverian gelding bred by Friedrich Luessmann, that topped the April ranking, is no. two this month with 1400 points. Rank three is Ben Maher's Faltic HB (Baltic VDL x Concorde), a 12-year-old KWPN stallion bred by H.A. Brinkman and M. Huisman, with a total of 1313 points. Last month's ranking leader Monaco (Cassini II x Contender), a 13-year-old Holsteiner gelding bred by Ralf Leutja and ridden by Harrie Smolders, is rank four this month. Rank five is another Conor Swail-mount; the 13-year-old Selle Francais gelding Vital Chance de La Roque (Diamant de Semilly x Rivage du Poncel), bred by Marie Bourdin.

The breeder rankings are published monthly from the April extraction cycle onwards. At the end of the cycle, the breeder of the horse with the most points in each discipline is crowned WBFSH Breeder of the Year for each respective discipline. The top breeders are celebrated during the Longines WBFSH Breeder Awards.

For the studbooks, BWP still leads the way on 6449 points, with King Edward, Igor van de Wittemore (Cooper vd Heffinck x Orlando) and Like A Diamond van het Schaek (Diamant de Semilly x Bamako de Muze) being their best three horses. Just like last month, Stud Book du Cheval Selle Français follows in rank two on 5958 points, with Vital Chance de La Roque, Rouge de Ravel (Ultimo Van Ter Moude x Quouglof Rouge) and Equine America Unick du Francport (Zandor x Helios de la Cour) as their three best ambassadors. The Holsteiner Verband stays as rank three, on a total of 5839 points – with Monaco, Con Quidam RB (Quinar Z x Cardino 5) and Limbridge (Limbus x Camebridge) being their top three horses.
