American rider Lauren Hough has been left with a dislocated shoulder, serious bruising as well as lacerations after being hit by a car while riding a bike. Hough in now recuperating at home.

On her Instagram account, Hough writes: “As many may have heard already, yesterday, I was on my daily bike ride home from the stables (with Rosie, my dog, in tow) when I was hit by a car. Luckily, I have no broken bones or life-threatening injuries, but I do have a dislocated shoulder, serious bruising, and lacerations that will take time to heal. I was released from the hospital last night to recuperate at home. Rosie is thankfully fine. I cannot provide too many details at this time as there is an ongoing investigation into the incident. Thank you for all the well wishes that are already being sent!”

At World of Showjumping, we wish Lauren a speedy recovery!
