At the very end of June, Mark Bluman – who has previously been representing Colombia – joined the Israeli showjumping team. The 35-year-old will from now on be competing alongside his cousin Daniel Bluman on the Israeli team, and has his eyes set on this year’s World Championship in Aachen where he hopes to be part of the squad with the 13-year-old gelding Landon de Nyze (Comilfo Plus Z x Quadrillo).
"The primary goal is the World Championships in Aachen. Beyond that, I have my sights set on future European Championships and, ultimately, the Olympic Games,” Bluman commented.
"Several members of my family already compete for Israel, so the support has been incredible. We are all very excited about the opportunity to compete together while representing such an amazing country,” he added.
Bluman and Landon de Nyze have been on great form so far this season, and recently won the CSI5* 1.60m RBC Grand Prix of Canada, presented by Rolex, at Spruce Meadows.
