After selling Calcourt Falklund and Velini, Michael Whitaker has invested in a very promising 6-year-old; Valmy de la Lande (Mylord Carthago x Starter). According to Stud for Life, Whitaker was amazed by the horse after trying it and is reported to straight away have said that he had never ridden such a horse in his life.
Valmy de la Lande has done some great things on the French youngster circuit under Axelle Lagoubie - the two ended 5th in the French 6-year-old Championships this year, where the horse caught the eye of many scouts. In the end, it was Whitaker who secured himself this talented horse - giving him the best opportunities to develop to top level.
