The 12-year-old KWPN stallion H&M Extra (Berlin x Heartbreaker) has been sold to Chile's Jorge Matte.

"Extra is a super horse with a lot of experience," Jorge Matte commented to World of Showjumping. "We have two important years coming: Next year, the World Equestrian Games in Herning, and then in 2023, the Pan-American Games on home soil in Chile. There is nothing better for an amateur rider like me to face these challenges with a horse like Extra, that did almost everything already."

Previously successfully competed by Olivier Philippaerts as well as his younger brother Thibault, the stallion belonged to the Spronken-family. On their homepage, the Philippaerts-family paid tribute to the stallion: “H&M Extra came to us at the age of five," said Olivier. “We evolved a lot together, achieving some great results. I’m thinking about the Nations Cup in Spruce Meadows, for example, helping out Belgium towards the victory. Or the Nations Cup Finals in Barcelona later that year, sealing the silver medal. H&M Extra is a horse with a golden personality, a hard worker with whom I had a really good bond. I’m happy to bring him to this level and proud of the performances we achieved worldwide. H&M Extra is ready now for the next step in his career. I wish him all the best with his new rider. I’m also very grateful for the beautiful memories I got with him thanks to the family Spronken.”

“Four years ago, I debuted at Spruce Meadows with him and participated at the European Championships," Thibault said. "H&M Extra was there when I made my entrance on the highest level. I will miss him in our stables.”
