McLain Ward has added a new talent to his string of horses; the 9-year-old gelding Quimi del Maset (Quasimodo Z x Indret del Maset). With Bolivia’s Daniel Bedoya in the saddle, Quimi del Maset finished 6th individually at the 2022 South American Games in Asunción, Paraguay, as well as 2nd individually at the 2022 Bolivarian Games in Bogotá, Colombia.
“We are looking forward to seeing Quimi's continued success under the guidance of such an exceptional rider and horseman. We would also like to thank Monica and Steve Hanks for providing the opportunity for us to ride and develop Quimi over the last two years,” said Bedoya in a statement. “This talented 9-year-old horse has exceeded our expectations, going from an inexperienced 6-year-old to an international Grand Prix competitor and a proven championship horse. We can't wait to see Quimi compete in the international ring representing the US in the upcoming months.”
