Trevor Breen's top horse Highland President (Clinton x Kannan, bred by Heather Black) has been sold and will in the future be seen with Cian O'Connor. Breen and Highland President have had a great season together, and were a part of the Irish team that claimed silver at the 2023 FEI Jumping European Championship in Milan, Italy.
On his official Instagram account, Breen announced: “Thank You and Farewell Highland President; Archie. It has been a privilege for us to breed and produce Archie. He’s such an intelligent horse and always willing to learn and fights like a lion in the ring. Both myself and Caroline were the main people to ride him at home his whole life and I was the only one who ever competed him, to produce him to this top level is something we are so proud of. Huge thanks to Caroline’s parents Ian and Heather Black for trusting us and keeping him this long with us at Breen Sport Horses. We went on a fantastic journey together up through the ranks culminating with numerous top 5 placings in CSI5* Grand Prixs and a Team Silver medal at the European championships. We can’t wait to see Archie’s next chapter unfold under his new rider Cian O’Connor and wish them all the success in the future.”
With the 11-year-old gelding, Breen also finished 4th in the CSI5* 1.60m LGCT Grand Prix in Riesenbeck, 5th in the CSI5* 1.60m LGCT Grand Prix in La Coruna and 5th in the CSIO5* 1.60m Longines Grand Prix of Ireland during the summer season.
"I'm looking forward to getting to know Highland President and hopefully continue the great job Trevor has done with him," O'Connor commented to World of Showjumping.
