Victor Bettendorf and his top horse Mr. Tac (Non Stop x Toulon, bred by Edmond Meyers), owned by Genevieve Megret, have parted ways. Bettendorf announced Mr. Tac's departure on his official Instagram account – writing: "Dear friends, I am sad to announce the departure of my partner Mr. Tac... the owners have decided to entrust him to another rider."
Bettendorf bought the gelding as a five-year-old, produced him and then sold him when he was seven, before the two were reunited in 2021. From there on, the two have gone from success to success. In 2022, the pair recorded international Grand Prix victories in Vilamoura, St. Tropez, Compiègne and Bourg en Bresse before they made a major breakthrough at the highest level last year with wins in the CSI5* 1.55m Grand Prix at Gothenburg Horse Show, the CSI5* 1.60m Hermes Grand Prix at Saut Hermès, as well as the CSI3* 1.55m Grand Prix in St Tropez.
The pair also qualified Luxembourg one individual slot for the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris, when ending 8th on the overall FEI Olympic Ranking published earlier this month.
