Bryan Balsiger (SUI) and the 13-year-old mare Twentytwo des Biches (Mylord Carthago*HN x Kalor du Bocage) took the top honours in Friday's CSI4* 1.55m Grand Prix in Vilamoura, Portugal.
Fifty horse-and-rider combinations had qualified in for the Grand Prix presented by Credito Agricola, and nine of them returned for the jump-off after having produced clears over the first-round track. Fastest of them all was Bryan Balsiger, who stopped the clock at 39.36 seconds – pushing Luciana Diniz (POR) and Vertigo du Desert (Mylord Carthago*HN x Robin II Z) down to second place by bettering their time by 0.01. Francois Mathy Jr. (BEL) and Uno de La Roque (Numero Uno x Kannan) finished third with a time of 39.73 seconds, while Yuri Mansur (BRA) and QH Alfons Santo Antonio (Aromats x False Pass) ended fourth and Kim Emmen (NED) on Jack van het Dennehof (Toulon x Quidam de Revel) fifth.
