Dominique Hendrickx (BEL) and Vintadge de La Roque (Kannan x Galoubet A) won Friday's CSI4* 1.50m counting for the world ranking in Gorla Minore, Italy. The class also served as a qualifier for Sunday's Grand Prix, and 22 of the 99 horse-and-rider combinations in it managed to produce clear rounds against the clock.
Fastest of all was Hendrickx and the 12-year-old gelding, that stopped the clock at 62.72 seconds. Holly Smith (GBR) and Denver (Albführen's Memphis x Chico's Boy) finished as runners-up in 63.30 seconds, followed by Sanne Thijssen (NED) and Con Quidam (Quinar x Cardino) in third with a time of 63.31 seconds. Fourth place went to Martin Fuchs (SUI) on Tam Tam du Valon (Ogrion des Champs x Quidam de Revel) and fifth to Michael Pender (IRL) on HHS Burnchurch (Heritage Fortunus x Cavalier Royal).
In Saturday's CSI4* 1.50m Grand Prix qualifier, also counting for the world ranking, the youth dominated. This time, Sanne Thijssen made it all the way to the top riding the 9-year-old Hi There (Nabab de Reve x Numero Uno) to a time of 27.10 seconds in phase two of the competition. Thibeau Spits (BEL) and Classic Touch DH (Casall x Corrado I) followed in runner-up position in 27.50 seconds, while Michael Pender (IRL) and HHS Javas Gucci (Luidam x Cruising) ended third with a time of 28.10. Jack Ryan (IRL) on BBS McGregor (Cardento x Mark Twain) finished fourth and Bryan Balsiger (SUI) on Twentytwo des Biches (Mylord Carthago x Kalor Du Bocage) ended fifth.
