Carlotta (Chaccomo x Cento) and Emanuele Gaudiano (ITA) – one of the fastest pairs on the circuit – took another victory at Hubside Jumping in Grimaud, France this weekend when going to the top in Saturday's CSI4* 1.45m counting for the Longines Ranking.
In a sixteen-horse jump-off, the two beat Marlon Modolo Zanotelli (BRA) and Icarus (Douglas x Sioux de Baugy) by 0.08 seconds. In third followed Harrie Smolders (NED) with Monaco, 0.42 seconds behind the winning time. Nicolas Delmotte (FRA) and Ilex VP (Diamant de Semilly x Darco) finished fourth, followed by Daniel Deusser (GER) and Casallvano (Casall x Gestion Silvano N) in fifth.
“I was unlucky with Carlotta on the first day of this last week of Hubside Jumping… We had one fence down but as usual she was very fast," Gaudiano commented. "Today we made up for it well and she jumped in a remarkable way! There were sixteen pairs qualified for the jump-off of this main class, including some very serious competitors and she manages to get the fastest double clear. This mare is truly exceptional."
Later in the day, Martin Fuchs (SUI) and Tam Tam du Valon (Ogrion des Champs x Quidam de Revel) won the 1.50m class against the clock. The pair was more than two seconds faster than Thierry Rozier (FRA) and Wouest de Cantraie Z (Winningmood Vd Arenberg x Calvin), followed by Marc Houtzager (NED) in third with Habitat BP (Dantos x l'Esprit).
