Italy’s Emanuele Gaudiano and the 13-year-old gelding Chalou’s Love PS (Diablo Blanco x Conterno-Grande, bred by Gestüt Lewitz) won Friday’s CSI4* 1.55m Amadeus Championat of Salzburg powered by Stadt Salzburg at the Austrian venue.
Jumping double clear and stopping the clock on 42.79 in the second round, the Italian took bested a field of 48 horse-and-rider combinations, taking the win ahead of Luke Dee (NZL) and Gangster WW (Grand Slam x Kannan) in second in 43.31. Roberto Turchetto (ITA) with Heidelberg (Mylord Carthago x Flyinge Quite Easy) placed third with a time of 43.99, while Gudrun Patteet (BEL) and Sea Coast Chica V.V. Z (Comme Il Faut x Chacco-Blue) and Elia Simonetti (ITA) aboard Li la Bo (Uriko x Casall) followed in fourth and fifth respectively.
Earlier during the day, Belgium’s Koen Vereecke and the 11-year-old mare Oilily de Muze (Vigo d’Arsouilles x Ramiro Z) topped the CSI4* 1.45m Amadeus Challenge. With a time of 60.58, Vereecke snatched the win from Kevin Jochems (NED) and Prada di Costa M (Vannan x Gitano v Berkenbroeck), who had to settle for second in 62.97, while Maximilian Schmid (GER) and Hetty Emaire (Spartacus TN x Heartbreaker) completed the top three when crossing the finish line in 63.68.
