Emilio Bicocchi (ITA) and Evita Sg Z (Verdi TN x Codexco) secured the win in Friday’s CSI4* 1.50m Grand Prix qualifier at Hubside Jumping International of Valence, after clearing the jump-off in 36.90 seconds.
Bicocchi was only joined as double clear by Titouan Schumacher (FRA) with Atome Z (Amadeus Z* Brimbelles x Toulon), who after stopping the clock at 37.03 seconds had to settle for the runner-up position.
Seven other horse-and-rider combinations made it to the jump-off, but they all had to see one or more poles fall to the ground. Two riders were faster than the winner, but with four faults they ended third and fourth – Emanuele Gaudinao (ITA) with Chalou (Chacco-Blue x Baloubet du Rouet) and Morgan Bordat (FRA) with Uma (Calvaro x Veneur d’Etenclin) that crossed the finish line in respectively 35.64 and 36.67 seconds. Fifth place went to Dayro Arroyave (COL) with Jimcy du Lys (Quincy/Quaprice x Venu du Theuil).
