The CSI4* Gaston Glock's Grand Prix of Salzburg went to Italy's Gianni Govoni.
Govoni was one of ten riders moving on to the jump-off in this 1.60m competition, where five repeated their clear rounds from round one. Fastest was Govoni on the 11-year-old gelding Antonio (Oklund x Aes Dick Z), stopping the clock on 38.52 seconds. With a time of 39.30 seconds, Switzerland's Annina Züger followed in runner-up position with the 16-year-old veteran Louis (Lord Pezi x Ultraschall).
Dutch rider Jur Vrieling finished third on Corporal VDL (Cardento x Grosso Z), with a time of 41.96 seconds while the two last double clears belonged to Hungary's Mariann Hugyecz who finished fourth and Italy's Simone Coata who ended fifth.
"This is the reward for all the work that we have invested in Antonio," said Gianni Govoni afterwards. "Antonio was considered an unrideable horse. We recognized his potential and have built it up with feeling and training. He has become a completely new horse and therefore this victory means a tremendous amount to me."
