Edited press release from Hubside Jumping
Gregory Cottard (FRA) made it another win for the host nation at CSI5* Hubside Jumping Valence, when taking the top honours in Saturday's 1.50m class against the clock counting for the world ranking. Riding the 9-year-old Cocaine du Val (Mylord Carthago x Si Tu Viens), Cottard stopped the clock at 61.49 seconds – 0.21 seconds faster than runner-up Jack Whitaker (GBR) with Elucar V.E. (Cardento 933 x Lupicor).
“Cocaine du Val is nine years old and I got her at the end of last year. She was then competing at 1.35m level, so this year I have stepped her up and she has already been competing in 1.55/1.60m Grand Prix classes. Today, I just wanted to get her into a jump-off pace, and she responded really well," Cottard said.
Third place went to Bertram Allen (IRL) with FTS Killossery Konfusion (Siec Livello x Cruising), followed by Emanuele Camilli (ITA) with Chaccrouet (Chacco-Blue x Baloubet du Rouet) in fourth and Megane Moissonnier (FRA) with Aramusse (Elan de La Cour x Le Prince de Thurin) in fifth.
Earlier in the evening, Lorenzo de Luca (ITA) won the 1.45m class over two phases, riding Malissa de Muze (Vigo D Arsouilles Stx x For Pleasure). Edward Levy (FRA) followed in second with Sirius Black (Calisco du Pitray x Laudanum) and Mark Mcauley (IRL) in third with O’Hara Els (Ogano Sitte x Liandero).
