Sweden's double World Champion, Olympic and European team Champion Henrik von Eckermann – current world no. one – and Glamour Girl (VDL Zirocco Blue x Caletto I) won Saturday's CSI4* 1.55m Grand Prix in Doha, Qatar, where the inaugural Doha Tour concluded its second week at Al Shaqab.
With a time of 32.80 seconds in a jump-off between eight horse-and-rider-combinations, von Eckermann and Glamour Girl bested a field of 19 participants – taking the win ahead of France's former world number one Simon Delestre and Dexter Fontenis Z (Diarado x Voltaire Pref) in second in 33.72.
"I am super happy," von Eckermann told World of Showjumping after his win. "Glamour Girl is best suited for the bigger arenas, and that is why I took her here. She seems to love this arena, so taking her here seems to have been the right choice. I'm looking forward to next week!"
Gerfried Puck (AUT) and Equitron Naxcel V (Balou du Rouet x Landetto) placed third in 34.72, while Janakabhorn Karunayadhaj (THA) and Maxwin Kinmar Agalux (Aganix du Seigneur x Lux Z) finished fourth in 37.29, followed by Jeanne Sadran (FRA) aboard Unforgettable Damvil (San Patrignano Corrado x Papillon Rouge) in fifth in 37.31.
