It turned out to be an exciting battle in the CSI5* 1.50m feature class on the first day of the Waregem Horse Week. Belgium's own Jérome Guery held on to the leading position with his Kannan-son, Kel'Star du Vingt Ponts to take the victory in 66,94 seconds.

Dutch rider Maikel Van der Vleuten gave it a good go in beating Guery's time. Together with the KWPN-mare, Arera C (Indoctro x Voltaire), Van der Vleuten crossed the finish faultless in 67,81 seconds. Kevin Staut completed the podium in the saddle of Viking d'La Rousserie (Quincy x Apache d'Adriers).

Home-rider, Olivier Philippaerts followed in a fourth place with the Cicero Z-son, Icos. Julio Arias completed the top five with the Jarnac-stallion Reggae du Tillard.
