Press release from Split Rock Jumping Tour

Jessica Mendoza rode Dublin to victory in the $37,000 Restylane® 1.45m Welcome class at the Split Rock Jumping Tour’s (SRJT) Columbus International I CSI2*.

Operating under COVID-19 protocols and guidelines, the Split Rock Jumping Tour’s (SRJT) Columbus International I CSI2* is being held at the Brave Horse Equestrian Center. The event continues through Sunday, running with approvals from the State of Ohio, FEI and USEF. Following a two-day break, action will continue at the same site with the Columbus International II CSI2*.

Out of a starting field of 76 horses, Mendoza was one of twelve to reach the tiebreaking jump-off by riding without penalty over the 16-jump, first-round course designed by Anderson Lima of Brazil. Eight entries then turned in another clean round over the 8-jump, jump-off course with Mendoza claiming the win with the fastest time of 38.670 seconds. Placing second was Christian Heineking with zero faults and a time of 38.950 on NKH Cento Blue with third going to Harrie Smolders who finished with zero faults in 39.580 seconds on Hocus Pocus De Muze.

The Columbus International I CSI2* is hosting a full schedule of show jumping classes ranging in height from .85m to 1.45m with classes for juniors, amateurs and top professionals. The schedule includes three FEI classes highlighted by the week’s culminating event, the $50,000 1.45m FEI Grand Prix on Sunday.

“We are truly gratified by the incredible turnout of riders we have here this week and that we’ve had at other events this year,” said Split Rock Jumping Tour Founder and CEO Derek Braun. “I want to thank everyone for their support in helping us put on great horse shows!”
