After a victory in the CSI4 * Grand Prix at Hubside Jumping back in July, Belgian rider Niels Bruynseels won again in Grimaud this afternoon – in the CSI3* Grand Prix. With the 10-year-old mare Frenchy VDS (Cornet Obolensky x Quidam de Revel), Bruynseels was the fastest in the jump-off that counted eleven horse-and-rider combinations. Brazil's Marlon Modolo Zanotelli and Kalinka van de Nachtegaele (Epleaser Van T Heike x Cicero Z) finished second, 0.15sec behind the winning time. Third place went to Germany's Christian Ahlmann with Solid Gold Z (Stakkato Gold x Calvin Z). Then followed two French riders: Edward Levy on Sirius Black (Calisco du Pitray x Laudanum) in fourth and Sebastien Duplant on Alpha de Preuilly (Pacha de Preuilly x Cento) in fifth.

“Winning a Grand Prix is always nice, especially with a young mare! Frenchy is only ten years old and has very little experience at this level. She has only been with me for four months. So, I'm really happy with her, in her first 3 * Grand Prix! Winning here, among the best in the world, is not that easy but she did it very well! She's naturally fast, but I have to manage her well because she has a lot of blood. This victory gives us confidence. Tomorrow, I will ride Gancia de Muze in the 5* Grand Prix. I think the course will be difficult, technical and with a fairly short time, but Gancia is incredible and she has already won a lot. Tomorrow, I will have to do my best to ride well!" smiled the happy winner.
