Great Britain's Laura Renwick and the 11-year-old mare Enjoy CK Z (Echo van’T Spielveld x Coronado) won Sunday’s CSI2* 1.45m Grand Prix presented by Dammann Reitplatz- u. Sportplatzbau GmbH at Centro Ecuestre Oliva Nova, Spain, as the first week of the third and final part of Autumn MET 2024 came to an end.

A total of thirteen horse-and-rider combinations from the 69 pairs at start cleared their way into the deciding jump-off, where the British rider clocked the quickest time – taking the win in 38.29 seconds, only fractions ahead of the French Olympic team bronze medallist Olivier Perreau and the 9-year-old Frisky de La Fontaine (Diamant de Semilly x Darco) who had to settle for the runner-up spot 0.30 seconds behind.

“It was technical enough, and the time allowed was quite influential,” Renwick said about the first-round track. “The course was really good; it is hard to build a two-star Grand Prix and get a good number of clears for the jump-off, like today.”

“I cannot say enough about my horse today, she was incredible,” Renwick praised the 11-year-old Enjoy CK Z. “She was already double clear and fourth in the ranking class yesterday, and there I was a bit slow in the beginning of the course, so I wanted to be quicker today. She always gives me everything. I am thankful to Ben Maher for giving me the ride on her. Ben rode her before I did, and as he had multiple horses, he gave the ride to me – and I am so grateful.”

“I think it is an amazing venue, and improves all the time,” Renwick said about Centro Ecuestre Oliva Nova. “I think it is one of the best showgrounds there is, both for horses and riders.”

Sweden’s Alexander Zetterman and Parfait d’Avril (Casallco x Uskudar der Malais) placed third in 39.07, followed by Ireland’s Niall Talbot and Charming Dream Z (Carrera VDL x Cagliostro 161) in fourth in 40.10 and Norway’s Pål Flam aboard Mega Special DC (I M Special de Muze x Landadel) in fifth in 40.65.
