Lillie Keenan (USA) and Super Sox (Salito x Silvio I) won Saturday's 1.50m ‘Lotto Hessen-Preis’ at the CSI4* show in Wiesbaden. 38 riders had lined up for this competition against the clock, which went according to plan after the organizers had to cancel the CSI4* 1.45m class earlier in the day due to adverse weather conditions with only 12 out of the 43 riders going into the ring before it was stopped.
Keenan finished Frank Rothenberger’s course in 66.28 seconds ahead of Emanuele Gaudiano (ITA) with Jasper P D15 (Echo van't Spieveld x Calvin) who stopped the clock at in 66.79 seconds. Keenan and Gaudiano were way faster than the rest of the field, with third placed Christian Weier (LUX) on Global (Nabab de Reve x For Pleasure) finishing in 69.87 seconds.
69.93 seconds was the time for the best home rider Tim Rieskamp-Goedeking (GER) with Quapitola de Beaufour (Diamant de Semilly x Kannan) who ended 4th. Chloe Reid (USA) with the bouncy Codarco (Darco x Orame) took 5th place.
“I had a great day here in Wiesbaden,” Keenan said after her win. “I’m here at the show for the first time and was already second twice the last days and now I really wanted to win.” Keenan has been riding Super Sox for the last three years and is for the moment based close to Frankfurt “I’m training with Cian O’Connor in Germany. That is fantastic and I have a really close contact with Super Sox. To win with him here today – that was amazing!”
