Marcus Ehning (GER) and Misanto Pret A Tout (Hiram Chambertin HN x Stew Boy) jumped to the victory in Friday’s CSI4* 1.50m class at Hubside Jumping in Grimaud, France.
Out of the 41 competitors, 12 qualified for the jump-off, where another eight horse-and-rider combinations cleared the course for a second time. With some of the fastest riders in the world included in the jump-off, it was all or nothing that counted to end high up on the result list.
“The jump-off was really perfect. My horse Misanto Pret A Tout is 17-years-old now, and he is without doubt one of the most experienced horses in the world, he is really intelligent and is very, very fast,” the happy winner said after his victory. “You can say that he made it very easy for me. You cannot imagine how happy I am to see him still jumping in such a state of freshness at his age. I will stay here at Hubside Jumping for two weeks and my plan is for Pret A Tout to jump the CSI5* Grand Prix next week. but he will not do a lot of competitions before that – I know him, it is hot here and I have to save him. I am so happy, not only for the victory, but most of all for the feeling Pret A Tout gave me. I’m very proud of his motivation and will.”
The runner-up position went to Simon Delestre (FRA) with Hermes Ryan (Hugo Gesmeray x Ryon d’Anzex), third place to Peder Fredricson (SWE) with H&M Christian K (Namelus R x Calvados) followed by Harrie Smolders (NED) with Cas 2 (Indoctro x Numero Uno) and Darragh Kenny (IRL) with Classic Dream (Colestus x Inster Graditz).
