Ireland’s Mark McAuley and the 10-year-old gelding Fury Nocturne (Volnay du Boisdeville x Jeff d’Or) won Thursday’s CSI4* 1.50m Funeraria Gijonesa Trophy in Gijon, Spain.
With a time of 32.39 in the second phase, the Irish rider took the win ahead of the host nation’s Eduardo Alvarez Aznar and Made In’T Ruytershof (Norton D’Eole x Diamant de Semilly) in second in 33.07. Jur Vrieling (NED) and Cornet Blue PS (Chacco-Blue x Cornet’s Stern) completed the podium in third in 33.33, followed by Pello Elorduy Ibarzabal (ESP) and Champenoise de Rampan (Voltigeur de Rampan x Quintal) in fourth in 33.78 and Robin Muhr (ISR) aboard Galaxy HM (Quality Time TN x Crawford) in fifth in 33.80.
