Switzerland's Martin Fuchs – current world number eight – and the 11-year-old L&L Upgrade (Ultimo x Baloubet du Rouet) won Friday's CSI4* 1.50m Premio Hotel Eden Roc on home soil in Ascona.
With a time of 61.98 seconds, Fuchs and L&L Upgrade bested a field of 46 horse-and-rider combinations in this competition counting for Longines Ranking Group D. Italy's Francesco Turturiello and Palina Keeps ZL (Plot Blue x Chacco-Blue) and Great Britain's Jack Whitaker on Equine America Valmy de la Lande (Mylord Carthago x Starter) shared the runner-up spot when both pairs stopped the clock on 62.10, while Niklaus Rutschi (SUI) and Amar des Brimbelles Z (Amadeus Z x Russel) finished fourth in 62.23, followed by Koen Vereecke (BEL) aboard Kasanova de La Pomme (Bamako de Muze x Malito de Reves) in fifth in 63.09.
