The 12-year-old gelding Commissar Pezi (Commissario x Böckmann’s Lord Pezi, bred by Johannes Zur Lage and owned by Luigi Baleri) has changed stables from Switzerland’s Martin Fuchs to the Netherland’s Michael Greeve.
Commissar Pezi and Greeve made their first international appearances together earlier in September, at Peelbergen Equestrian Center and Sentower Park. “As I ride another horse from Luigi, Coromont, we thought to give Commissar Pezi a try as well,” Greeve explained to World of Showjumping about the switch of stables.
Fuchs took over the reins of Commissar Pezi from Louisa Müller (GER) in 2022, and the two have been hugely successful ever since. In 2023, they won the CSIO5* 1.60m Tourmaline Oil Cup at the Spruce Meadows ‘Masters’ in Calgary and were part of the winning Swiss team in the CSIO5* 1.60m Mercedes-Benz Nations Cup at CHIO Aachen. In 2024, they won the CSIO5* 1.60m Defender Grand Prix of Switzerland in St Gallen, the CSIO5* 1.60m RWE Prize of North Rhine-Westphalia at CHIO Aachen, the CSIO5* 1.50m Queens Cup in Barcelona, as well as the CSI5* 1.55m UBS Challenge in Geneva. In January this year, Fuchs and Commissar Pezi placed 4th in the CSI5*-W 1.60m Longines FEI Jumping World Cup™ of Basel, and in May, they won the CSI5* 1.55m Kingdom of Bahrain Stakes for The King’s Cup at Windsor.
