Germany's Philipp Weishaupt and the 10-year-old stallion Karaldo (Harley x Chin Chin) took Friday's biggest win at the Doha International Equestrian Tour 2025 at Al Shaqab in Doha, Qatar.
With a time of 36.73 seconds in a jump-off of eight, the German rider topped a starting field of 31 in the CSI5* 1.50m – a competition counting for the Longines Rankings Group C – taking the win ahead of Abdullah Alsharbatly (KSA) and Fiumicino van de Kalevallei (Plot Blue x Nabab de Reve) in second in 37.13.
Gerfried Puck (AUT) and Equitron Ornaat V (Ut Majeur de Brecey x Landetto) placed third with a time of 37.24, while Marit Haar Skollerud Cox (NOR) and Qurina van het Leliehof (Jenson Van'T Meulenhof x Camus) finished fourth in 40.45. With a fence down in 37.04, Mariano Martinez Bastida (ESP) and Origi Van'T Geyzeven (Thunder Vd Zuuthoeve x Heureka) finished fifth.
The second CSI5* class of the day – a 1.45m counting for the Longines Rankings Group D – went to Emanuele Gaudiano (ITA) and Vasco 118 (Vivant x Chacco-Blue), while Oliver Lazarus (RSA) and Miss Paris (Messenger x Caspar) took the runner-up spot ahead of Duarte Seabra (POR) on Geniale Star Kervec (Quick Star x Diamant de Semilly) in third.
