The French riders continued their great form at the 2023-edition of the Longines Deauville Classic, and took the top five placings in Friday's CSI4* 1.50m Prix Defender Challenge Authuit with the victory going to Reynald Angot and the 15-year-old Untouchable Gips HDC (Portofino 46 La Silla x Socrate de Chivre).
A total of 21 pairs from the 82 horse-and-rider-combinations at start delivered a clear in the 1.50m competition against the clock, and with a time of 63.76 it was Angot and Untouchable Gips HDC that were the quickest. Nicolas Deseuzes (FRA) and the 10-year-old Eldorado Sunheup Z (Eldorado vd Zeshoek x Quartz du Chanu) followed in second in 64.47, while Marie Demonte (FRA) and Epona du Quesnoy (Ogrion des Champs HN x Nabab de Reve) placed third in 65.78, Penelope Leprevost (FRA) and Djagger Semilly (Diamant de Semilly x Apache d'Adriers) fourth in 65.83, and Megane Moissonnier (FRA) fifth in 66.16 aboard Bracadabra (Pacific des Essarts x Couleur Rubin).
