The first week of the 2023 Mexico Fall Tour at the Club Hipico Otomi in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico, kicked off with a German victory as Richard Vogel and Cepano Baloubet took the win in the CSI5* 1.50m. Judged as a Table A, one round against the clock with one jump-off against the clock, the class – counting for the Longines Ranking Group C – was also the qualifier for Saturday's Grand Prix.
With a time of 37.51, Vogel and Cepano Baloubet (Chaman x Stakkato's Highlight, bred by Wolfgang Seemann) took the win ahead of Italy's Emanuele Camilli and Odense Odeveld (Diamant de Semilly x Querlybet Hero, bred by Caroline De Laet) in secod in 37.71. The host's Manuel Gonzales Dufrane and Martialis (Nabab de Reve x Lord Z, bred by Walter Van Bunder/Stud Merelsnest) placed third in 37.95, while Brazil's Santiago Lambre and Chattanooga (Cornet's Prinz x Caprilli, bred by Gisela Klatte) finished fourth, followed by Ireland's Shane Sweetnam aboard RR Combella (Cornet du Lys x Indoctro, bred by Solmat Agropecuaria S.A.) in fifth.
