Forty riders from seven nations lined up for Saturday's CSI3* 1.50m Stutteri Ask Grand Prix of Herning, that went to Dutch rider Robert Vos and his faithful 18-year-old Carat (Cardento x Krevad).
Robert Vos has been in top form during the show, winning Thursday's Longines Ranking class as well, and was a favourite ahead of the Stutteri Ask Grand Prix. "I am on Europe's fastest horse," said Vos himself and gave a performance that proved him right.
Seven riders made it to the jump-off, where Vos was first to go. None of the riders to come could match his time of 34.18 seconds, closest came Germany's Holger Hetzel on Legioner (Limbus x Calido I) in 35.18 while the third place went to Brazil's João Victor Castro on Quentin PJ (Quidam de Revel x Escudo 19) in 35.77. The two last double clears came from Sweden's Rolf-Göran Bengtsson who finished fourth, and Denmark's own Thomas Sandgaard who ended fifth.
"It is a great show," said the happy winner. "I was here in October, and I am very happy to be back."
