Rodrigo Giesteira Almeida (POR) won Friday’s feature class at Hubside Jumping in Grimaud, France – the CSI4* 1.50m counting for the Longines Ranking. Riding Delvaux (Chacco-Blue x Lancer II), Giesteira Almeida was almost half a second faster than runner-up Gregory Cottard (FRA) with Bibici (Norman Pre Noir x Nelfo du Mesnil).

Third place went to Roberto Turchetto (ITA) with My Cool Passion, ahead of Yuri Mansur (BRA) with Ibelle Ask (Verdi x Robin des Bruyeres) in fourth and Paul Delforge (FRA) with Britney du Banney (Marius Claudius x Elcosto du Banney) in fifth.

“This last class of the day was a serious one, very technical and we just saw few riders managing to deliver a clear round,” said Rodrigo Giesteira Almeida. “My horse Delvaux has a lot of qualities, which gave me the simpler task. I have been riding him for six months and now I feel that we are ready for the bigger classes. I really believe in him for the future. I am based in Holland at the Margaretha Hoeve Stables, where I ride the horses from Eric Berkhof. The Hubside Fall Tour is my first CSI4* since I started to work for this stable. It is also my first time at Hubside Jumping which has all the conditions needed for top sport.”

Earlier in the day, Derin Demirsoy (TUR) won the 1.45m class with Dadjak Ter Puttenen (Toulon x Vanitas). Second place went to Jean Luc Mourier (FRA) with Jackpot (Cicero Z Van Paemel x Phillip 028), third place to Titouan Schumacher (FRA) with Eliot Brimbelles Z (E T Cryozootech Z CL x Diamant de Semilly), fourth place to Pedro Veniss (BRA) with Balada de Colores (Baloubet du Rouet x Couleur-Rubin) and fifth place to Francois Xavier Boubant (FRA) with Houston B (VDL Zirocco Blue x Vigaro).
