The first edition of the CSI5* Longines Hong Kong International Horse Show at Asia World-Expo in Hong Kong kicked off on Friday with a French win in the 1.50m Longines Welcome Stakes.
France’s Olympic team gold medalist and the 2013 European Champion Roger Yves Bost and the 11-year-old gelding Embassy du Chateau (Jarnac x Bolero de Brecey) bested a field of 23 horse-and-rider-combinations, taking the win in 55.44 ahead of Denmark’s Zascha Nygaard Lill and Com’on Miss Ogano Sit (Ogano Sitte x Cornet’s Stern) in second in 57.47 in the competition counting for the Longines Rankings Group D.
The current world number eight, Germany’s Richard Vogel and Kansall (Kannan x Casall) completed the podium, taking the third place in 57.86, while Jordy van Massenhove (BEL) and Caleya (Calido I x Lancer II) finished fourth in 57.88, followed by Patrick Lam (HKG) on Dakota (Denver V x Nissan Rex Z) in fifth in 59.77.
