Sanne Thijssen (NED) continued her great form at the Andalucía Sunshine Tour 2023 on Friday, taking the top honours in the CSI4* 1.50m Big Tour Grand Prix qualifier counting for the Longines Ranking with her incredible Con Quidam RB (Quinar Z x Cardino).
With a time of 65.64 seconds, Thijssen took the win ahead of home hero Armando Trapote (ESP) and the 12-year-old Tornado VS (Toulon x Contender) in second in 66.37, while Martin Fuchs (SUI) and Commissar Pezi (Commissario x Böckmann's Lord Pezi) placed third in 68.26. Olivier Robert (FRA) and Iglesias D.V. (Quasimodo van de Molendreef x Indorado) finished fourth in 68.69, and Michael Greeve (NED) fifth aboard Jacksonville Eurohill (Emerald x Carambole) in 68.89.
The second Longines Ranking class of the day, a CSI4* 1.45m in two phases, went to Great Britain's Matthew Sampson and MGH Candy Girl (Sligo Candy Boy x Cruising) with a time of 26.65 in the second phase ahead of Kevin Gonzalez De Zarate Fernandez (ESP) and Favorito (Indoctro x Habsburg) in second in 26.93. Ales Opartny (CZE) and Holland TN (Breitling LS x Drosselklang II) placed third in 27.00, while Francesco Turturiello (ITA) and Quite Balou (Quite Capitol x Baloubet du Rouet) finished fourth in 27.12 and Dermott Lennon (IRL) aboard All Pleasure Hero II Z (Aganix du Seigneur Z x For Pleasure) fifth in 27.30.
