Sanne Thijssen (NED) and the 17-year-old stallion Con Quidam RB (Quinar Z x Cardino 5) won the CSI4* 1.60m Grand Prix presented by Montblanc in Moerzeke, Belgium. With a time of 43.44s, Thijssen and her faithful partner were the quickest pair in a jump-off between three horse-and-rider-combinations, taking the win ahead of Rik Hemeryck (BEL) and Navarro van het Eelshof (Jappelloup vh Dauwhof x Poleander) in second in 50.05 and Thibeau Spits (BEL) in third in 50.64 aboard Calvino II de Nyze Z (Calvaro Z x Heartbreaker)

Kim Emmen (NED) and Inflame Go (Namelus R x Carthino Z) placed fourth with four faults in 75.35 in round one, while Thomas de Wit (BEL) and Tools DW Z (Toulon x Cicero Z Van Paemel) finished fifth with one down in 80.39.

"It was quite a big course, and the ground was not great due to the bad weather. It was not that technical, but the challenge was the height of the fences combined with the footing," Thijssen explained about the Grand Prix that saw only three riders produce clears in round one. "It's unbelievable how much balance Con Quidam has on these arenas; he really likes the big grass rings. I have to say I was also a bit lucky that they decided to take another maintenance break to improve the footing just before I went in. Still, it all has to work out, and it did."
