Thierry Rozier (FRA) delivered a home win in Thursday’s biggest class at Hubside Jumping in Grimaud, France. Riding Star (Singulord Jot, Oes x Caretino), Rozier finished the CSI4* 1.45m class in 58.02 seconds – 1.77 ahead of runner-up Wilm Vermeir (BEL) with Car Love Epona B (Cardento x Nabab de Reve).
Third place went to Simon Delestre (FRA) with Chesall Zimequest (Casall x Concerto II), followed by Gregory Wathelet (BEL) with Sandero (Sandro Boy x Cassini I) and Jos Verlooy (BEL) with Fabregas (Zambesi x Achill).
“Simon Delestre had definitely put the pressure on, but my mare is fast, without doubt one of the fastest on the circuit. With Star, everything is always possible!” Rozier said after his win. “I knew it was that kind of course that suited us both. I was a bit afraid when Wilm Vermeir rode, but he finished second today. I know that to win a class here, you have to give everything – the field is so exceptional. And that is what I love. I’m a competitor. I like a challenge, but most of all I like to ride against the best.”
