The appetiser to the Longines Global Champions Tour Grand Prix of Shanghai was a feast of showjumping action as Great Britain’s Laura Renwick and her 8-year-old mare MHS Washington (Obos Quality x Cavalier Royale) delivered a flawless masterclass in the speed competition. Laura finished almost a full second ahead of the field, crossing the line following the full height course in an impressive 56.67s. The speed class tested the very best in the sport, and required the optimum amounts of pace and delicacy.
Sweden's Henrik von Eckermann looks to be on fantastic form this weekend, taking his second placing of the show with the 9-year-old gelding Chacanno (Chacco-Blue x Kannan). Third place went to Marc Houtzager (NED) and Sterrehof's Bylou (Phin Phin x Niveau).
