Julien Epaillard was the best from start to finish in Saturday's CSI5* Mercedes-Benz Championat in Vienna. As first to go of the 34 combinations in this 1.45/1.50m competition against the clock, the French speed specialist blew all competition aside from the very beginning to take home the victory with a clear round in a time of 56.59 seconds aboard the 9-year-old mare Tradition de la Roque (Kannan x Oberon du Moulin).
Home pair Max Kühner and Electric Touch (Untouchable Z x T'is Voltaire) finished as runners-up, although a sea of time separated them from the winning couple with almost three seconds in between. Dutch rider Marc Houtzager on Sterrehof's Bylou (Phin Phin x Niveau) took care of the third place with a time of 60.42 seconds.
