Home hero Julien Epaillard and the 11-year-old stallion Hoover (Clinton x Carthago) took a popular win in Sunday morning's CSIO5* 1.45m Prix GrandPrix in La Baule, as the last day of competition got underway at the traditional French venue. 

With a time of 24.56 seconds in phase two of the class, no one could do anything about the world no. two – who yet again proved to be too quick for the rest, much to the delight of the entusiastic crowd at the François André Stadium. Ireland's Cian O'Connor came the closest with Germaine W (Eldorado vd Zeshoek x Armstrong) after stopping the clock at 25.82 seconds, followed by Belgium's Gregory Wathelet and Berline du Maillet Z (Berlin x Action-Breaker) in third in 25.94. Brazil's Stephan de Freitas Barcha and Chevaux Nutreal Hex Lup Imperio Egipcio (breeding unknown) finished fourth, and Sweden's Petronella Andersson fifth with Odina Van Klapscheut (I Am Moerhoeve’s Star x Landor S).
